Lennar wins HomeAid Builder of the Year Award

Lennar is honored as 2021 Builder of the Year for HomeAid Atlanta. Congratulations!!  HomeAid announced its 2021 Award Winners at the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) and Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council Holiday Party and Silent Auction on December 1 at Atlanta Athletic Club, which raised $12,000 to help further HomeAid’s mission.

Lennar provided leadership and expertise for HomeAid Atlanta’s renovation and restoration project at The Drake House.  In addition to overseeing the plumbing repair, Lennar led renovations on kitchens and bathrooms, interior paint, flooring, and new electrical in the 16 apartment units. Thanks to the hard work and generosity of Lennar and their trade partners, the project valued at $400,000 will cost significantly less for The Drake House.  Tom Bowers, Lennar Vice President of Operations said, “On behalf of the Lennar Atlanta Divisions, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work for such an amazing cause, on such a special project. I truly enjoyed working with HomeAid and The Drake House over the last eight months to deliver these amazing homes for deserving families.”

“Once we had R.S. Andrews on board to replace all the old plumbing at The Drake House, I set out to find a builder that could not only put everything back together, but update all of the kitchens and bathrooms. Lennar came through in a huge way! I only asked for one building at a time thinking that all 16-units would be overwhelming with the frenzied housing market we are currently facing not to mention all the supply chain issues. After nearly completion on the first eight-unit building, Tom Bowers with Lennar couldn’t wait to get to the second building to implement all of the lessons learns on building number one and ensure that all of the emergency housing at The Drake House was ready in time for the holidays. We are so grateful to Lennar for making a home not only for the holidays, but for ALL of the days for women and children in crisis,” Mandy Crater, HomeAid Atlanta Executive Director.
