This could very well be some of the biggest news the Atlanta real estate market has seen in months – Lennar, one of the nation’s biggest home builders, just announced that they are entering the Atlanta market.  Todd Jones, a well known Atlanta home building industry veteran, has been named the Division President for the city, and it won’t be too long until we start seeing Lennar new home communities throughout metro Atlanta. Georgia will be the 17th state in which this large homebuilder has a presence.

Lennar has been wanting to break into the Atlanta market for years since we are business hub and one of the nation’s fastest growing cities. We are home to many Fortune 500 companies as well as the nation’s busiest airport. These factors, as well as the low price of land, have led Lennar to the conclusion that now is the perfect time to expand into the our market.

“Our Company has been able to capitalize on well positioned land ideal for community development and we believe this is the right time to establish a very strong brand presence in this market,” said Sam Sparks, President of Lennar’s Southeast Region.

Alright, enough with the facts, we want to hear from the Atlanta real estate and home building industry. Is now really the perfect time for Lennar to be entering our market? What kind of effect do you think it will have on the home building industry? Will it just put more product into a market that is already saturated? Is there something different Lennar will bring to our market? Lennar entering the Atlanta market – good thing or bad? Let us know!
