Publisher Sherry Gasaway with KNOWAtlanta joins the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to discuss the benefits of sharing vital resources with new metro area residents. Gasaway joins host Carol Morgan on the All About Real Estate segment.

Before the pandemic, relocators from the New England region, Illinois, Texas and California made up many of Atlanta’s new residents. After working remotely for over two years, employees across the country now have the freedom to live anywhere. A large percentage are choosing to make Atlanta their new home, further diversifying the Peach State.
The seventh most popular metro city in the nation for relocation, experts predict that by the year 2050, 8.6 million residents will call Atlanta their new home. Annually, around 80,000 people move to the metro region, which consists of 14 counties.
Gasaway commented, “We are seeing such an influx of people coming here. Georgia is a great place. We’re close to the ocean, we’ve got mountains, we’ve got lots to offer.”
The state’s rapid growth is attributed to the impressive job growth from large companies relocating to the state. While technology is a dominating employment sector, life sciences are quickly catching up, with several major companies looking to Atlanta for a new home base.
