Business mergers have a reputation for being complicated and fraught, but Keller Knapp’s recent merger with Red Robin Group serves as proof that they do not have to be. On today’s All About Real Estate segment of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio, Managing Broker at Keller Knapp Melissa Wakamo joins co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick to discuss the new combination.

Wakamo describes Keller Knapp as a small, boutique real estate agency with three offices in the metro Atlanta area. In 2016, they had 108 agents and a sales volume of $350 million. Red Robin Group, according to Wakamo, is known for an active social media presence and eye-catching marketing. When Wesley Knapp, with Keller Knapp and Wakamo started discussing the merger, it seemed like a no-brainer. With the merger, Keller Knapp expands into Southeast Atlanta, as Red Robin Group’s office was right off the Atlanta BeltLine, where they had previously not had a presence.

Wakamo also says that the two businesses complemented each other. While Keller Knapp is strong in sales, Red Robin Group is specialized in management systems and marketing. In the end, these two talents blended together make for an efficient and highly trained back office that can benefit clients and agents with customer service and training. Wakamo also points to the growth along the Atlanta BeltLine with urban development, improving schools and walkability of these neighborhoods.
