A new company is knocking over the traditional home selling model. Knock is a new service in Atlanta that guarantees to sell houses in six weeks or less.  Tice Pell, director of business development for Knock, is offering a webinar on Wednesday, May 3 at 2 p.m. EDT to demonstrate to sellers and builders how Knock works.

Pell says that although metro Atlanta real estate is in high demand, some homeowners still face difficulties selling their properties. In 2016, the market saw 10% of purchase contracts fall through. This was the third-highest rate of failed home transactions in the U.S., according to Trulia. When a contract falls through, it sets off a cascade that affects the buyer, the seller, potentially the builder, the financing and more.

After a homeowner requests a home offer from Knock, which they receive via email within 24 hours, they can choose to take the guaranteed price and decide when to move out, or they can have Knock list and market the home for up to six weeks. If the home hasn’t sold to an outside buyer after 42 days, Knock will purchase the home at the pre-agreed upon price. Either way, Knock promises to sell the home within six weeks.

For builders, Knock has become a growing service that offers peace of mind. Builders like to sell homes as soon as they are finished, but rarely do they want to write a contract with a contingency for a buyer. With Knock, they don’t have to worry about a contract falling through because of a buyers’ home not selling.
