Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates HomeAid Atlanta for winning a Silver OBIE in the category of Best Community Service Project for its major construction project at Rainbow Village in Gwinnett County. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.
HomeAid Atlanta is a nonprofit organization that builds new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. HomeAid Atlanta recently partnered with Mike Smith of Harcrest Homes to construct an apartment building at Rainbow Village. Rainbow village is a transformational housing community for homeless families with children in the Duluth area. Most of the occupants at Rainbow Village are women fleeing lives of domestic violence and poverty.
Rainbow Village provides long term programming for its residents that includes support services for the whole family including life skills training, character building, counseling, career development, after-school programs, and financial education. The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s OBIE Awards celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2015. The awards began in 1980 and have grown throughout the years to include more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories.
