Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot, and his wife, Billi, have listed their north Sandy Springs mansion on the market. For just $3.2 million, this amazing piece of Atlanta real estate can be your new home.

The house features five bedrooms and eight bathrooms and sits on three acres of land on Wildercliff Drive near the Chattahoochee River. The two-story, 10,314 square foot home includes a guest house, staff quarters and caretakers house, as well as an indoor pool, wine cellar, workshop, fitness center and two offices.

Built in 1987, the home is valued at $2.4 million and the land at $784,400, according to the Fulton County tax assessor’s records. The Marcus family has been the only occupant of the home since they built it. “Everything in the home is state-of-the-art,” says Besty Akers, real estate agent with Atlanta Fine Homes.

Akers also states that the real estate market in metro Atlanta for such high-end homes is continuing to improve, and that she has sold several million dollar homes without listing them. She says that these kinds of sales taking place indicated confidence in the Atlanta market.

Bernie Marcus’ net worth is listed at around $3 billion, according to Forbes magazine. Home Depot, the company he co-founded with Atlanta Falcons’ owner Arthur Blank in 1978, is now the world’s largest home-improvement retailer. Since retiring as chairman in 2001, Marcus has donated millions of dollars through the Marcus Foundation, including $250 million to open the Georgia Aquarium. He has also funded medical research, including opening Atlanta’s Marcus Autism Center in 2008 and donating $25 million to Boca Raton Regional Hospital, located where they now live, to open the Marcus Neuroscience Institute to help treat patients with epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis and other brain disorders.
