golf and cocktailsBlue Giraffe Sports and The Palm are excited to announce the return of the popular Cocktails for the Cup event, held in conjunction with the PGA Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club. The charity dinner and silent auction, now in its sixth year, will be held the Thursday before the Championship on September 19, and proceeds from this year’s event will go to The Silverton Foundation.

The Silverton Foundation is a mortgage, rent and short-term housing assistance program that helps families who have hospitalized or critically-ill children. They aim to help the families maintain their homes while reducing their financial burden.

With an average of 700 attendees each year, this event has become one of the highlights of Championship weekend. Many of the tour’s top players and their families attend each year, as well as other celebrities. In addition to dinner, the night will include a charity auction with approximately 80 items up for bid.

The PGA Tour Championship features the top 30 players on the PGA Tour who are all striving to win the FedEx Cup and the $10 million prize that goes with it. The championship at East Lake Golf Club is the culmination of the professional golf season, and the Cocktails for the Cup event aims to gather everyone together, from the public and charitable businesses to professional golfers and other celebrities in town for the event, to benefit the chosen charity.

This year’s event will be from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. at The Palm in Buckhead. Tickets are limited and prices include dinner and drinks. They are being sold for $100 at the three metro Atlanta PGA Tour Superstores in Kennesaw, Duluth and Roswell.
