Large families can take advantage of picnic shelters for an all day affair at these wonderful State Parks. Families interested in celebrating Easter throughout the month should take a look at these fun activities around the area. Coastal Georgia

Easter Egg Hunt at Hofwyl-Broadfield

Saturday, March 12, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Historic Site – Brunswick, GA

Children 10 and younger are invited to bring their baskets and join in on the Easter egg hunt. There will be separate hunting areas for age groups, with games and crafts before and after the big search. The Easter Bunny will be in attendance to greet children and pose for photographs. Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 26, 2 – 3 p.m.

Fort McAllister State Park – Richmond Hill, GA

Join an old-fashioned Easter Egg hunt in historic Fort McAllister while soaking up low-country scenery. Tickets are $1 for children ages 2-4 and $2 for children ages 5-12 plus a $5 parking fee. 912-727-2339.

Egg-citing Hike Hunt

Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Panola Mountain State Park – Stockbridge, GA

Peter Cottontail is leaving lots of eggs hidden on the nature trails. Can you help find them all? Bring your basket and be ready for the hunt. Ages 2 and younger, 3-6, and 7-12 will have their own trails to search for eggs and prizes. The egg hunt will start at 10 a.m., leaving plenty of time for story-time and crafts before lunch. Night Eggstravaganza

Friday, March 18, 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

F.D. Roosevelt State Park – Pine Mountain, GA

Bring your basket and flashlight for a nocturnal candy egg hunt. Have your picture taken with Roosevelt Bunny, visit the animal petting coral, and make a craft. There are three field hunts separated by age: 3 and younger, 4-6, and 7-9. Meet at the Liberty Bell Pool on Hwy. 354. Tickets are $4 plus a $5 parking fee. 706-663-4858.

 

Baskets, Bunnies and Eggs

Saturday, March 19, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mistletoe State Park – Appling, GA

Ages 3 – 10 can create their own Easter baskets and go on a kid-friendly egg scavenger hunt through the woods. Afterward, visit with rabbits from the 4-H Bunny Club. The costs are $2 for a basket program plus a $5 parking fee. 706-541-0321.

Friday, March 25, 8:30 – 9 p.m.

Saturday, March 26, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Little Ocmulgee State Park and Lodge – Helena, GA

Bring your flashlights for a Friday night egg hunt along the trail (ages 10 and younber). On Saturday, start the Easter weekend with a rousing game of Easter bingo, followed by Easter crafts and live baby animals children can touch. A.H. Stephens Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A.H. Stephens State Park – Crawfordville, GA

The Easter Bunny has hidden eggs, and they are waiting for you. Children bring your own basket, join the fun and search for a few. Little hunters will have their own small patch, and if you are lucky, there may be a surprise visit by the Easter Bunny. Donations appreciated. 3rd Annual Glow-N-Dark Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 26, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

High Falls State Park – Jackson, GA

Egg hunts are no longer just for the day. More than 4,000 glowing eggs will fill the day use area. Join in before the hunt for carnival-style games and s’mores. Registration is required and space is limited. Ticket costs are $5 plus $5 parking fee. 478-993-3053.

 

5th Annual Easter Egg Roll and Egg Hunt

Sunday, March 27, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Roosevelt’s Little White House Historic Site – Warm Springs, GA

Bring your Easter basket and camera for a fun day set in the Little White House grounds. The 3-5 year old group will begin at 1:00 p.m. The 6-8 year old group will begin at 1:30 p.m. The 9-11 year old group will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tickets range from $9 to $14. 706-655-5870.

 

Easter Eggcitement at the Bend

Saturday, March 26, 1 – 3:30 p.m.

Chattahoochee Bend State Park – Newnan, GA

Bring your baskets and camera because 1,000 candy- and prize-filled eggs and the Easter bunny will be here. Age groups 0-4, 5-8, 9-12. After the hunt, get drawing in the sidewalk chalk art contest. Chalk is provided. Ages groups 4-8 and 9-13, prizes for each age group announced at 3:30. Free finger painting for all ages. Easter Egg Hunt at Kolomoki

Saturday, March 26, 3 p.m.

Kolomoki Mounds State Park – Blakely, GA

All ages are welcome at  the Visitor Center to hunt Easter eggs and take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Ages will be divided by 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, and 12 and older for the hunt. Twilight Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 26, 7:30 – 9 p.m.

Laura S. Walker State Park – Waycross, GA

Bring your flashlight and join us for a fun egg hunt in the dark. They will have two egg hunts, one at 7:30 p.m. for children ages 0-5, and the second at 8:30 p.m. for all ages. Come early to enjoy the park’s new 1,500 boardwalk at the lake. Tickets are $3 plus a $5 parking fee. 912-287-4900.

 

Adel Easter Egg Hunt and Little River Festival

Saturday, March 26, 1 p.m.

Reed Bingham State Park – Adel, GA

Bring your basket for an Easter egg hunt during the park’s annual Little River Festival. Enjoy bounce houses, music and kids’ activities, along with raffles and prizes. Kids will be divided by age, up to 12 years old. Tickets are free but there is a $5 parking fee. 229-896-3551.

Northern Georgia

Old Fashioned Easter

Saturday, March 26, 1 – 4 p.m.

Elijah Clark State Park – Lincolnton, GA

Participants will dye eggs from natural dyes made at the park. There will be old timey games like egg toss and egg rolls, with prizes. Create a burlap Easter bunny. Bring your camera to take pictures of your family with our live bunnies. End the day with a guided, moonlit canoe paddle 8:30 – 10 p.m. Call for reservations.
