A recent article in a Floyd and Bartow County publication, The Druck Report, featured a great article about Carol Flammer, “Flammer juggles family, tech-savvy PR firm, ‘zoo’ all from her Cartersville home.” Carol is president of Atlanta public relations firm Flammer Relations.
Her family includes her husband Bill, who builds custom homes and is an excellent woodworker, and son Forrest, who loves Legos and creating towering “mansions” from cardboard and left-over office supplies. The Flammers, who live in the northern outskirts of Cartersville, have many animals on their farm, Thistledown, including two dogs, 10 cats, six horses, two goats, multiple chickens, a miniature donkey, a turtle, a bunny and several goldfish.
By day (or 24/7), Carol’s full-time job is the president of Flammer Relations, which is an Atlanta public relations firm specializing in residential real estate, non-profit and business-to-business accounts. She’s an active member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the HBA’s Sales and Marketing Council, the Atlanta Urban Land Institute.
But when she finds time to relax, Carol spends her time cleaning barn stalls, grooming horses and riding her horse, Favian (also known as Junior) to get ready for dressage shows. She enjoys perennial gardening and is a kitty foster mom for Pick of the Litter. She usually pulls kittens from the Etowah Valley Humane Society in Cartersville, keeps them until they are old enough to adopt out and takes them to adoptions at Pet Smart on Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta.
