Soleil Laurel Canyon consistently offers an array of events and activities for its residents – – from everyday amenities such as bocce ball and walking trails to movie night in the Clubhouse and live concerts in the amphitheater. Soleil’s second tennis charity event will raise money to benefit the children who attend the Ralph Bunche Center.
The Grand Slam fundraiser will take place Friday, May 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will include a range of activities everyone can appreciate. There’s something for everyone at the fundraiser, even for those who don’t play tennis. The event features gourmet fare, a silent auction, entertainment, raffle prizes and the opportunity to watch a professional tennis match featuring Soleil’s own pro, Tom Cobb.
For the last 38 years, the Ralph Bunche Center has served the Canton community through language and literacy programs that empower children to put their best foot forward in Kindergarten, elementary school and beyond. The non-profit currently provides resources and services to 110 students in the Head Start program, 20 Pre-K students and seven pre-school intervention students. The goal for this year’s event is to improve the security around the facility as well as the appearance and structure of the center’s playground.
