If you’ve been looking for a new home in Atlanta and want to see the full array of homes you can choose from, then this is the episode for you! On today’s Around Atlanta episode, Meg Thompson with Meg & Co. Real Estate and the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association tells listeners about this month’s parade of homes.
Thompson serves as the Associate Vice President of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Executive Board of Directors. As Associate VP, Thompson helps the HBA achieve its goal of promoting, protecting and preserving home building as a viable economic force in Atlanta. The HBA focuses on advocacy and legislative issues that affect home builders on both the local and state levels. Additionally, the HBA provides education for members to promote a higher standard of professionalism within the industry, partners with HomeAid Atlanta to offer charitable work and hosts networking events to help industry professionals make important connections.
This year, the Greater Atlanta HBA is hosting the 2018 Atlanta Parade of Homes, which has returned after nearly a decade. The parade will showcase dozens of award-winning decorated model homes throughout the Atlanta area from Friday, April 20 to Sunday, May 6 during three weekends of open houses. Model homes will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The fifty decorated model homes are located in the nine Metro Atlanta counties that the HBA serves.
Thompson comments that a major attraction for home buyers in Atlanta is that the city’s real estate market is so diverse in its offerings. A wide variety of price points, home styles and communities will be available during the parade of homes, so attendees are sure to get a clear vision of what they are looking for. Each builder will have available homesites and option pricing, so home buyers can choose what is most important for their new home. Intown townhomes, homes for vertical living, suburban home styles, single-family detached homes, luxury custom homes and more are available to tour during the parade of homes.
The parade is free to attend and the homes will also showcase cutting-edge trends in design, energy-efficiency and smart home technology. The actual staging and decoration of the homes buyers tour may not be included, but attendees will have the opportunity to enter for the parade’s grand prize, which is a $5,000-value dining room or luxurious owner’s bedroom decoration package from Haven Design Works. The second-place prize to be given away is a Big Green Egg for enjoying outdoor cooking to the fullest. Attendees can register at the doors of model homes to win.
