Harrison Cousins Maine Lobster

The famous food truck, Cousins Maine Lobster, offers Atlanta a new brick-and-mortar shop at Lenox Square Mall and the menu is outstanding! On today’s Around Atlanta episode, Tony Harrison, owner and operator of Atlanta Cousins Maine Lobster franchises joins us to talk about why they have been voted the number one food truck and how their journey has led to this amazing sit-down restaurant.

Since 2012, the popular food truck favorites such as lobster rolls, lobster tacos and lobster bisque have taken Atlanta to another foodie level. Recently, Cousins Main Lobster opened their third brick-and-mortar shop at Lenox Square Mall offering brand-new items including lobster grilled cheese, lobster BLT, Maine harvest salad and an item so popular that it’s only served at night because of the work it takes to make it, Maine whole belly fried clams.

One aspect that makes Cousins Maine Lobster so unique and popular is their menu prices. Aside from the authentic taste of delicious lobster, Cousins sells Maine and Connecticut-style lobster rolls for just $17.50, which is incredibly lower than similar rolls in the area.

Cousins Maine Lobster was founded in 2012 and is best known for their appearance on Shark Tank with Barbara Corcoran. Harrison is a businessman with extensive experience at Proctor & Gamble and stumbled into the business by accident and his desire for lobster. One night he watched an episode of Shark Tank featuring Cousins Maine Lobster and immediately contacted them only to find out they were only located in Los Angeles, California. Cousins mentioned expanding the franchise at the time which lit a spark in Harrison and in 2015, the first Cousins truck debuted in Atlanta.

The new menu features a variety of lobster and seafood-based dishes including rolls, sandwiches, salads and soups. Cousins’ lobster is all sourced from the Gulf of Maine and has a 24 to 48-hour turnaround from the ocean floor to the trucks and restaurants. Cousins Maine Lobster’s hours at Lenox are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

Besides owning the Cousins franchise in Atlanta, Harrison is also the President of Food Truck Association of Georgia (FTAG). He appeared on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio in April of 2018 to discuss the Atlanta food truck industry, it’s challenges and how Atlantans can support area food truck owners. The administration continues to focus on making Georgia, especially Metro Atlanta more food truck friendly. To learn more about the association, visit www.FoodTruckAssociationOfGeorgia.com.
