Make it an Essential Mother’s Day with HomeAid Atlanta

From family activities and live music to philanthropic efforts that bring communities together, there is always something going on Around Atlanta worth knowing about! HomeAid Atlanta Executive Director Mandy Crater joins Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick to discuss the non-profit’s 18th Annual HomeAid Essentials Drive – going on now!

Hosted by HomeAid Atlanta, the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA), the Essentials Drive is an annual community-wide collection to deliver “essential” items, such as diapers, baby wipes, baby food and baby formula for homeless infants and toddlers. Held in conjunction with Mother’s Day, the Essentials Drive is celebrating its 18th collection in 2019, providing a great opportunity to help homeless mothers and their babies.

What items are collected?

  • Diapers (size 1 to 5)
  • Pull-ups (size 4 and 5)
  • Baby wipes
  • Baby food (stage one to toddler)
  • Formula
  • Infant laundry detergent
  • Monetary donations and gift cards (ex. Target, Walmart & Babies-R-Us)

Can I donate online? Yes! HomeAid Atlanta has online baby registries at Amazon and Target. Cash donations are also accepted.

Are any items not accepted? Unfortunately, used items may not be accepted. All items must be new and in original packaging.

Where do the collected items go? All donations will be distributed to local nonprofit organizations that serve homeless families and children throughout Atlanta.

The Essentials Drive continues to be successful thanks to the support of Atlanta residents, having collected over a million essential baby items in its 18 years. Through Tuesday, May 7, 2019, donations to the Essentials Drive can be given at several public drop-off locations throughout several Atlanta and metro Atlanta.
