Room One: the Living Room. You could save $215 in one year’s time by replacing your five most frequently used incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs ($65 savings) and by installing an Energy Star-qualified programmable thermostat ($150 savings). The new bulbs will use less energy and last up to 10 times longer. The thermostat will control the temperature while you’re away from home and at night. You’ll be more comfortable and use your watts wisely.
