From Inman Park to Roswell, South Haven Builders is dedicated to creating a home and haven for families throughout Atlanta. On today’s All About Real Estate episode, Founding Partner at South Haven Builders, Shane Roach gives a little background on the company, what makes them a unique custom home builder in Atlanta, their deep passion for homebuilding, and how they strive to make the most of each client’s experience.
Roach has been in the Atlanta homebuilding industry since 2005. Prior to beginning South Haven Builders, his business success crossed multiple industries, with a focus in business management and operations with regional and national firms. He also led multiple business units for John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods.
South Haven Builders primarily focuses on custom home building but also takes on larger renovation projects; which Roach describes as “pop the top” and “full gut” projects. “When we help with renovation projects, we typically like projects that really change the character of the home,” states Roach. Recently, South Haven Builders won a Gold OBIE for a home renovation that involved transforming the exterior architecture of a ranch home, as well as adding an updated style through a completely new floor plan.
South Haven Builders is a team of builders, designers and architects who truly enjoy designing and building beautiful homes for great people. What makes the team different from other custom home builders is the fact that these professionals are all on staff and they are all involved in the process from beginning to end. “Having our professionals on-site early on really helps our clients, and us as a team because it instills confidence,” explains Roach. “We are all up front and present through the entire course of building the home. Everyone is really looking at all aspects of the design, relating their personal experiences and making relevant recommendations to the client.” As professionals who are familiar with custom home building, the team can take everything they have learned over the years and help clients through the often-overwhelming process.
Building 12-to-15 homes each year, the target area for South Haven Builders tends to stay primarily in north Buckhead, OTP Sandy Springs, Morningside, Kirkwood, and soon, Serenbe. “We find ourselves building a lot of family homes,” states Roach. “We typically trend toward homeowners in the million-dollar and up category.”
In addition to building custom homes, Roach is also the 2019 HomeAid Atlanta Board President. Introduced years ago, Roach has been heavily involved in various ways at the organization. “As home industry professionals, we do so well at our jobs that we can all be transformative to someone in need. We can take all the tools and skill sets and make a real contribution to people who don’t have access to those luxuries,” states Roach.
