Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Copper Sky Renovations for winning a Gold OBIE in the Residential Remodeling category for Best Kitchen under $50,000. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.
This kitchen remodel included demolishing the old outdated kitchen and installing a new kitchen (cabinets, appliances, countertop, lighting, backsplash and paint). Copper Sky Renovations changed the windows on the exterior wall to work with the new kitchen layout.
The problem that Copper Sky was trying to solve with the client included updating the overall look to a new and more modern look and feel. At the same time, the remodeler was on a tight budget in order to bring this kitchen in under $50,000.
To help alleviate the budget concerns and provide a modern look, Copper Sky went with a flush slab IKEA cabinet with a high gloss white. In addition, the remodeler installed a white quartz cabinet to complete the modern look. To introduce some color, the remodeler installed some blue colored poly carb material on the backside of the peninsula and in the backsplash. For that additional color pop, the remodeler installed pink poly carb product behind the range. This aligned with the client’s whimsical taste so she was thrilled!
To complement the modern feel, Copper Sky installed some high-end lighting over the peninsula and dining room table. In addition, the floating shelves added to the open and modern feel of the kitchen. Finally, the client provided artwork that complemented the overall kitchen look. The end result is a transformation into a modern style with areas of interest defined by well thought out color schemes.
This kitchen is a perfect example of the ability to produce a high-end kitchen on a tight budget. Copper Sky strategically spent lesser amounts on cabinets, backsplashes and appliances to then compliment these areas with higher-end lighting, countertop and artwork to give the appearance of a high-end kitchen. This allowed the remodeler to accomplish the goal of the client to transform her house from a traditional and dated feel to a new sleek and modern look and feel. She was extremely happy with the results of her initial vision and budget.

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s OBIE Awards celebrates its 37th anniversary in 2017. The awards began in 1980 and have grown throughout the years to include more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories.
