Homes for Our Troops

Construction Resources, Inc. is thrilled to be supporting the Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) charity once again. This time, the company is donating award-winning materials and services to two homes in Hawkinsville, Ga. The owners, Marine Corporal Tony Mullis and Marine Corporal Michael Boucher, each lost both of their legs while serving in Afghanistan. Their new homes will help them live more independently.

Construction Resources is installing granite kitchen tops, including an island and raised bar, granite bathroom countertops and Kohler sinks.

“It is always a pleasure to team up with Homes for Our Troops and help these amazing veterans by providing some of the products we are best known for, high quality counters and sinks,” explained Sonny Hires, co-owner of Construction Resources. “Our choices for these homes are as unique and special as the veterans that will live in them. Of course, all products are designed around independence and accessibility.”

In addition to being real-life heroes, Mullis and Boucher are friends and coworkers. The team founded their own non-profit, Amputee Outdoors. The organization takes wounded veterans on hunting and fishing trips. Both are ecstatic about their new homes.

Construction Resources works with HFOT as part of the Artisan Group, a group of allied fabricators located across the country. Most donations are gathered during Construction Resources’ Counters for a Cause sales event, a national countertop yard sale to benefit HFOT projects.
