Construction Resources, Inc. announces its sponsorship of Southface’s EarthCraft green building certification programs. First developed in 1999 as a partnership between the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Southface, programs made possible through sponsors include EarthCraft House, EarthCraft Communities, EarthCraft Light Commercial, EarthCraft Multifamily and EarthCraft Renovation.
These programs help to ensure that building and communities meet strict criteria for saving energy and water, have high indoor air quality and protect land and natural resources.
“We chose to partner with Southface’s EarthCraft program in order to spread awareness of green building to our consumers, vendors and community,” said Mitch Hires, partner at Construction Resources. “In addition to the high quality products we stock, such as Vetrazzo, we have learned a great deal about green processes that can be utilized in the building industry. We believe that these products and our sponsorship help distinguish us from the competition.”
Construction Resources is an exclusive supplier of Vetrazzo, an American-made and environmentally-friendly recycled glass countertop surface perfect for kitchens and baths. This green product comes in 17 colors, ranging from single-color glass options to kaleidoscope-like mixes. As another sponsor of Southface, Vetrazzo gives presentations to EarchCraft’s technical advisors on its products. In addition, Vetrazzo is a NSF certified member of the US Green Building Council, recipient of an EPA Environmental Award and contributor of LEED points.
Construction Resources’ other green offerings include Cambria quartz, Piedrafina recycled marble, PaperStone post-consumer recycled surfaces and more.
All products are offered at the over 3,000 slab-capacity slab yard and additional facilities on the 13-acre campus in Decatur, Ga.
