Cambria event with Million Dollar QuartetAtlanta’s own Construction Resources recently partnered with quartz countertop industry leader Cambria to celebrate with their clients.  The evening began with a reception at the Georgian Terrace Hotel with legendary drummer W.S. “Fluke” Holland, who is best known as the longtime drummer for Johnny Cash.  He is heard on many of Cash’s most famous recordings including “Ring of Fire”.

Holland’s big break in the music industry came from his performance on Carl Perkin’s original Sun Records recording of Blue Suede Shoes.  Attendees at the event were regaled with stories from his days on the road and in the studio with Cash as well as performing with other legendary Sun Records artists including Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis.

After the reception, Construction Resources guests were treated to a performance of the stage musical “Million Dollar Quartet” at the Fabulous Fox Theater. The show is a dramatized version of the legendary jam session in 1956 at the Sun Record Studios in Memphis, Tenn.  which included Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. The drummer in that session was none other than W.S. “Fluke” Holland.

Cambria chose Atlanta as the site to host this event based on the strength of their Lexus-level Partnership with Construction Resources and Atlanta Kitchen, and the eagerness for Atlanta builders, remodelers, designers, and architects to add Cambria’s durable, beautiful surfaces in over 100 design profiles to their new construction and remodeling projects.
