As budgets get cut in our school systems, the music and arts programs get cut as well. That’s why fundraising events are important to keep these programs afloat for future generations.

Forsyth County is fighting back against these budget cuts with the 5th Annual Concert in the Quarry 2010. The concert, to take place at the Martin Marietta Forsyth Quarry on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. will benefit the community’s middle and high school arts and music programs. This is Georgia’s only concert event held 300 feet below ground. Headlining acts include Joe Gransden and Big Mike Geier with a special performance by Simple Alliance from Music Matters’ Rock U. Visit the concert’s website for ticket pricing information. Outside food and drink is prohibited. However, food concessions are available provided by Backyard Burger and Johnny’s Pizza.

The Forsyth County school system is known for its excellence and dedication to supporting and developing young minds. This makes the new homes community of Champions Run in Forsyth County an ideal location for families with children. Champions Run features home plans large enough for the whole family, with four, five and six bedroom options. Home plans are easily adaptable with a myriad of choices such as adding gourmet kitchens, media rooms or porches.
