Lisa O'Connor with Aprilaire

Senior Manager of Marketing Strategy with Aprilaire Lisa O’Connor is in studio for today’s episode of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Joined by co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick, the group discusses how to achieve cleaner air inside the home on this All About Real Estate segment of Radio.

O’Connor, originally, from Madison, Wisconsin, moved to the Atlanta area with her husband and children. Aprilaire was founded in 1954 in the midwestern region of the United States. At the time, the company was responsible for creating a technology associated with humidification. The product was designed to spread humidity throughout the entire home by being placed on the HVAC system. This was especially helpful during the dry, winter months. Aprilaire specializes in selling products throughout the United States, creating systems for several different environments and weather types.

“Our whole focus is creating healthy air in the home,” said O’Connor. “We believe that is a great way to create happy and healthy families. We also believe the best place to start is with healthy air.”

Aprilaire has several product categories, including ventilation, air purification, dehumidification and humidification. Putting these systems together creates a healthy home environment. It also helps to make people less susceptible to catching colds, viruses and other diseases when this system is in place in the home.

Now more than ever, consumers are concerned with healthy air and clean living. Ever since the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, Aprilaire has seen a huge increase in interest and purchasing of its clean air systems. It has also seen a large uptick in website traffic with homeowners looking to educate themselves and learn more about how air purification systems work.

“The first thing to do is take the time to gain an understanding of the air inside and outside of your home,” said O’Connor. “It does matter where you’re located. Some people who live in a more rural area have beautiful fresh air outside their home, while people who are located near an interstate or in an urban area might not have great air to bring inside the home. There are products built for both of those environments.”

In addition to understanding the air inside and outside of the home, O’Connor also advises homeowners to get to know their HVAC system. It’s important to understand what type of system you have and what type of technology is available to help your home run more efficiently and cleaner.
