Christmas Tree Recycling Options Throughout Metro Atlanta

As the holiday season nears its end, one of the times of year’s most unwanted chores remains – disposing of the Christmas tree. Fortunately, a multitude of Christmas tree recycling options are available throughout Georgia!

Each year, the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation hosts its annual Christmas tree recycling program, Bring One for the Chipper. The foundation works with private sponsors that include The Home Depot, Georgia Forestry Commission, Ferry Morse Seed Company, 11 Alive, The Davey Tree Expert Company, One Tree Planted and Burpee Seed Company to organize the event. Multiple local volunteers and sponsors also provide in-kind services and make contributions across the state.

Since its inception, the Christmas tree recycling program has recycled an estimated 6 million Christmas trees into mulch for playgrounds, county and city landscaping projects and individual homes. Many communities also create fish habitats by choosing to sink the trees into lakes.

Monte Hewett Homes residents have plenty of Christmas tree recycling options.
