July is National Parks and Recreation Month, and the city of Kennesaw is celebrating accordingly! The City of Kennesaw Parks and Recreation Department was recognized as the Georgia Recreation and Park Association 2011 Agency of the Year, and they are continuing their tradition of excellence by helping residents stay fit and healthy.
During July, they are celebrating by offering free, fun and fit activities. Residents can drop in to as many of the activities as you’d like to see what all of the excitement is about, and there is no registration required.
There are weekly activities for children and teens, including soccer, show choir, eagle golf and crossfit kids. Children’s activities are all located at the Ben Robertson Community Center and Adams Park, which are located just off of Cobb Parkway.
Zumba, line dancing, crossfit, tai chi and salsa dancing make up the free trial adult classes, which are offered at either the Ben Robertson Community Center or Swift-Cantrell Park, located on Old 41 Highway.
