Residents of Heron Bay Golf and Country Club, located in Locust Grove, are just minutes away from the biggest Labor Day party in the United States. Culminating in the AdvoCare 500 race on Sunday night, race weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway offers a plethora of activities and events for families and fans to enjoy.

Festivities get started on Thursday, August 29 where visitors and residents alike can attend the first-ever NASCAR Hauler Parade that will be held after a plaque dedication ceremony in downtown Hampton. Once the parade ends at the track, there will be festivities for the community and drivers on Cherry Street in Hampton.

Friday features Sprint Cup Series qualifying to set the field for Sunday’s race, starting at 6:40 p.m. Qualifying will be followed by a question-and-answer session with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski. At 9 p.m., sprint car racing makes its debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway with a race in the quarter-mile “Thunder Ring.”

The Great Clips/Grit Chips 300 Nationwide Series Race, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is the highlight of Saturday night. The Nationwide Series features up and coming drivers eager to make their mark in NASCAR, as well as veterans of the stock car racing world.

Race day kicks off with the Coca-Cola Family Track Walk to benefit Speedway Children’s Charities at 11:30 Sunday morning. Fans can take the first lap of the day around the track, free with an AdvoCare 500 race ticket, where they will have the chance to meet drivers from the Coca-Cola Racing Family. Pre-race festivities start at 5:30 p.m. with the Fast Cars and Guitars concert featuring Billy Currington, which is followed by the NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver introductions. The third NASCAR Sprint Cup Series night race at Atlanta Motor Speedway will send drivers battling for the checkered flag at 7:30 p.m.
