The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is getting ready to celebrate the 19th year of recognizing leadership in development in the Southeastern United States through their Awards for Excellence.

The annual awards ceremony is one of the most esteemed and exciting nights in the industry, where representatives from every aspect gather to celebrate, share laughter, have a delicious dinner and recognize each other’s achievements.

ULI recognizes industry leaders through three types of awards.

  • Awards for Excellence recognize an outstanding real estate development project or initiative that exemplifies ULI’s mission of providing leadership in the responsible use of land, as well as in creating and sustaining thriving communities.
  • The Frank Carter Community Achievement Award is given to an individual in development or a real estate-related field who has made an exceptional contribution to the metropolitan Atlanta area in his or her lifetime.
  • The Dan and Tally Sweat Community Leadership Award honors a leader in the public or non-profit sector who has made a significant contribution to responsible land use in metro Atlanta, whether through development or through promoting and implementing public policy that favorably impacts land use.

This year’s Awards for Excellence ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center.
