HomeAid Atlanta once again partnered with CBRE for a HomeAid Care Day on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014. Despite the pouring rain, 13 enthusiastic volunteers reported to the United Methodist Children’s Home (UMCH) in Decatur to perform much-needed upgrades and facility maintenance.
During the HomeAid Care Day, which marked the fifth consecutive year that CBRE has partnered with HomeAid Atlanta, volunteers completed three large projects. One group removed old carpet and installed new laminate flooring in the break room, one group cleared out two of UMCH’s storage rooms to make space for new supplies and equipment, and the third group organized a tool storage room/workshop that is integral to the daily operations of the United Methodist Children’s Home.
“The United Methodist Children’s Home saved approximately $2,500 due to the efforts of CBRE, a volunteer partner group of HomeAid Atlanta. We are deeply grateful for our relationship with HomeAid and are happy to have had the hard-working volunteers from CBRE assisting on our campus. We look forward to welcoming HomeAid and CBRE back to the United Methodist Children’s Home for future projects,” said Sergio Perez, UMCH facilities manager.
UMCH provides services for transitionally homeless families and individuals, as well as foster care services.
“HomeAid is fortunate to partner with CBRE for the fifth year. This group is always well organized and ready to work. They certainly help HomeAid with our outreach efforts, and make an enormous impact for every service provider we have had the pleasure to assist together,” said Jean Hilyard, HomeAid Atlanta executive director.
