Council Chair of the Year – Cassy Hester, Haven Design Works

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) hosted its Annual Installation and Awards Ceremony recently at the Omni Hotel at The Battery. During the ceremony, Cassy Hester was presented with the Council Chair of the Year award.

The GAHBA has seven active, dynamic councils that provide educational and networking opportunities for several of the diverse special interests of its members. In recognition of the services that the Councils provide, the GAHBA honors one Council Chair for outstanding excellence and member service. This award is very challenging to give out due to the quality of leadership and devotion these chairpersons put into each of their respective councils.

Cassy Hester individual is full of color, life and tenacity! To know Hester is to love her. With her chosen theme of “Connection” in 2021, Hester was very intentional about connecting with her council members after coming off a tough year without many meaningful interactions. Her ideas and visions are fresh and innovative while still aligning with the mission of the Professional Women in Building Council. Under her leadership, PWB had one of its most profitable and successful years yet. Hester was instrumental in creating a brand-new event, the Backyard Builder Bash, which quickly picked up steam and has members looking forward to the annual event. Hester’s professionalism, work ethic, connections and overall willingness to serve the greater good of the association is the reason she is the recipient of this award.
