Emily Choate Bridges, Marketing Director of Choate Construction and the event chair for Cars & Q For the Cause, joins our host Todd Schnick and co-host Carol Morgan for the Around Atlanta edition of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio.
Choate grew up in Atlanta, going to Clemson for college; Choate came back to Atlanta to be the Marketing Director of Choate Construction. They do just about everything you can imagine.
Choate Construction has been hosting the Cars & Q event for a while, hosting it at the headquartes in Atlanta on April 30th from 4-7 p.m. The show is born out of a love of cars and an intense desire to cure Cystic Fibrosis. Choate’s history with Cystic Fibrosis and the CF Foundation began in 1989 at the inception of the company.
Shortly before founding the company, Millard Choate’s daughter met her best friend Leann at the age of two. A year later, Millard was working away in Choate’s first office (his home’s basement) and received a call he would never forget. Leann was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. There was no cure. And the life expectancy was in the teens.
From that day forward, supporting the CF Foundation has been an inherent part of Choate’s culture and Cars & ‘Q is the main fundraising initiative. Choate thought, “What better way to raise money than with stellar cars, super BBQ, and sweet music?!” And thus the show became what it is today.
Leann is currently 30 years old now and is married. With advances in research and therapy are truly impacting her life, all funded by the CF Foundation and in turn, Cars & ‘Q.
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment, and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.
This great event has amazing food, beer and muscle cars as well as helping a great cause. There will also be an awesome auction to have the chance to bring home some amazing goodies.
