Choate Construction Company's Cars&Q event

Award winning car show and party unifies community and industry in support of a cure

Choate Construction Company’s Cars &’Q for the Cause is revving up for its 15th year of driving out cystic fibrosis (CF), the genetic lung disorder affecting 40,000 people throughout the U.S. On Saturday, October 19, 2024, nearly 1,000 attendees will join in the fun-raising at Choate Construction’s headquarters in Sandy Springs to accelerate the tremendous efforts of the Georgia Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF)’s life-saving mission.

The family-friendly car show features over 100 prize-winning automobiles, from ultra classics to exotics; a generous spread of BBQ from Jim ‘n Nicks; delicious pours from local craft vendors, including From the Earth, New Realm, Mutation Brewing and STATS Brewpub; a silent auction; live music; friendly car competitions; and kid-friendly activities.

According to Brian Bollins, VP & Division Manager for Choate in Atlanta, the car show has become one of the most anticipated fundraisers and AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry events since its beginnings in 2009.

“Cars & ‘Q has grown by leaps and bounds in its 15-year history,” said Bollins. “Many of our attendees and generous supporters don’t have a personal connection to cystic fibrosis, yet they show their unwavering support year after year. It’s inspiring to see the strength of the camaraderie as we come together and continue pushing forward in our fight for a cure.”

Last year alone, Cars & ‘Q surpassed their goal and achieved a record $674,560, putting the show at the threshold of raising more than $4 million to fund the cure for CF.

The funds raised have significantly impacted cystic fibrosis research, leading to life-saving drugs that benefit nearly 90% of the CF population. CFF is reporting steady gains in survival with new drug developments and advancements in gene therapy promising further breakthroughs in repairing and replacing the relevant gene(s).

Each year, Choate employee-owners prioritize their long-time support for CFF through internal fundraising, with Cars & ‘Q for the Cause as their signature community event. Nationwide, Choate remains one of CFF’s top corporate fundraisers, raising more than $7 million over the company’s 35-year history.

Cars & ‘Q for the Cause will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 3 to 6 pm at 8200 Roberts Drive, Atlanta. Advance tickets are $20 for entry and dinner and $40 for entry, dinner, and bar access (legal age permitting). Prices increase to $30 and $50 on October 9 and may sell out. Children under 8 are free.
