Peggy Still Johnson, executive director of Callanwolde Fine Arts Center talks with hosts Todd Schnick and Carol Morgan on this week’s Around Atlanta segment of the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio Show.

Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is currently preparing for their annual Salute to America and the Arts event which will be held Saturday, September 10 at the Callawolde’s amphitheater. This concert and festival raises scholarship funds for U.S. Military Veterans and students in need.

Headlining the event is none other than Grammy award winning artist CeeLo Green. He and his sister Shedonna Alexander are founders of the GreenHouse Foundation which reaches out to teens in high risk neighborhoods and teaches them skills like horticulture.

The festival will start at 1 p.m. and last into the evening. In addition to the live music, vendors and food trucks, there will also be a silent auction. Peggy mentioned one of the items up for auction is a private meet and greet with CeeLo himself.

Salute to America and the Arts is not the only event on Callanwolde’s calendar, be on the lookout for information on their great Halloween event on Friday, October 28.

Since the Callanwolde’s estate is also the historic home of the Charles Howard Candler family, daily tours of the property are also available. Asa Candler, the oldest son of Charles was the founder of The Coca-Cola Company and was president from 1916 to 1923.
