Russ Belin, vice president of Broadway in Atlanta joins co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick on this week’s Around Atlanta edition on the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio Show to discuss the upcoming Broadway in Atlanta season at the FOX Theatre.

The 36th season of Broadway in Atlanta will run from September 2016 to August 2017 featuring 12 titles, nearly a title a month, making this the biggest season of Broadway in Atlanta to date.

“Part of our mission is to premiere the hottest, newest titles directly from Broadway,” said Belin. “It’s a big season, but Atlanta’s got the appetite for it.”

Atlanta Broadway offers a variety of packages, starting with the five-show package, now selling for $174, but there is also a three-show mini package option that allows some flexibility.

The five-show package is a collection of shows premiering in Atlanta for the first time. Those five titles include A Christmas Story, The Bodyguard, Matilda, Finding Neverland and An American in Paris.

Kicking off the Atlanta Broadway season is The Illusionists, a death-defying, hilarious, upscale magic show. Viewers will enjoy a variety of presentations to include sleight of hand card tricks, escape artist, body illusions and more. The show premieres on September 27 at 7:30 p.m.

The Phantom of the Opera, the most played show in Atlanta, is returning to the FOX Theatre on February 22 at 7:30 p.m. as part of their North American Tour. This beloved story features thrilling musical numbers, exciting new special effects and more, dubbed “bigger and better than ever before” – you do not want to miss this.

Premiering on April 18 at 7:30 p.m., Matilda, based on the popular Roald Dahl children’s novel, comes to Atlanta after running in New York for more than two years and winning multiple Tony Awards. This hilarious adaptation is family-friendly while remaining compelling to adults.
