So, you think you can grill? Well, step right on up and prove it at the next Atlanta Remodelers Council meeting. That’s right, they are throwing down a Battle of the BBQ challenge to see who the people think has the best sauce and is the ultimate grill master champion. Join them on Tuesday, August 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for this showdown of tasty proportions at the Greater Atlanta HBA office (1484 Brockett Road, Tucker GA 30084).
You can enter any type of barbeque meat you want (chicken, beef, pork, etc.), but there will only be a few true champions. So, be sure to enter your name into the competition by emailing Janel Grant at firstname.lastname@example.org by Thursday, August 1.
If you need a little inspiration, here are the four most popular types of barbeque:
- Carolina Style: The thin, vinegar based sauces from this region are known for packing a powerful, flavorful punch. And, the South Carolina varieties just so happen to add an extra twist, mustard.
- Memphis Style: Prepare to get messy with this style that is known for its sweet, spicy and mild rubs, as well as mopping sauces that are brushed on during cooking.
- Texas Style: You can’t go wrong with the Lone Star state’s classic style featuring either “naked” meat or with tomato, vinegar and Worcestershire sauces on the side.
- Kansas City Style: South meets west in this artfully combined style in which the meat is seasoned with savory spices, sweet rubs and sauces and smoked in hickory pits for hours. Kansas City style sauces are also known for being thick and sticky sweet.
After chowing down on delicious food, join the council for their roundtable discussion on time management and managing your job site efficiently.
Registration for this event is $25 for council members using the code “RC,” $35 for HBA members and $45 for non-HBA members.
