The Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) will be hosting a Hollywood worthy event on Tuesday, February 26 at Villa Christina. This event will explore the fabulous movie industry that has taken hold of Atlanta communities over the past few years and stimulated the local economy.
KNOWAtlanta magazine recently listed Georgia among the top five states in the nation for film and TV production, with high ranking credits such as: The Blind Side, Vampire Diaries, Zombieland, The Walking Dead, Wanderlust, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Hall Pass, Joyful Noise, Drop Dead Diva and many more!
Registration and networking will begin at 6 p.m. and the two guest speakers will begin at 6:30 p.m. along with dinner. Seating is limited for this event, so be sure to register soon!
The Georgia Film and Television Industry’s North Fulton Camera Ready Liaison, Sarah LaDart, is one of the noted guest speakers at this SMC event. LaDart will explain the development and implementation of the tax credit program created by Georgia to draw production companies. She will also review how sites are selected, made camera ready and highlight some of the films that have already been filmed here.
Deshanna Wiggins, Executive Assistant to the Interim Director of Special Events and Senior Film/Special Events Coordinator for the Mayor’s Office, will also be speaking during at this event. Wiggins will be discussing how the city of Atlanta welcomes and houses production companies, along with the permitting process that occurs for those wishing to film on the city’s streets, lanes and sidewalks.
This event is only $35 for current SMC members, $45 for Non-SMC members, $55 for Non-HBA members and an additional $10 walk-in fee for those not pre-registered.
