Cindi MacPherson with The Interior Partners and David Clough with Waterford Homes are this week’s guests on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Cindi shares the thought process behind designing a model home, while David talks about Waterford Homes’ communities.

Cindi MacPherson is a partner with The Interior Partners. Cindi has been in the new home building and interior design industries for many years, and she has several interior design certifications. The Interior Partners, founded in 2007, primarily focuses on interior design for sales centers, model homes and clubhouses.

The Interior Partners work with national builders, local builders and everything in between mostly in the southeastern United States. Overall, the company sees themselves as marketing partners whose goal is to create sales. The advantage of choosing Cindi and her company is that she has been a builder and developer, so she has greater insight to the construction insight. Additionally, they dedicate a portion of their time to doing design research on the specific demographic of each community’s buyers. This research, which they call model home merchandising psychology, takes into consideration the age and financial situation of the buyer, community amenities, nearby schools and much more to create an appealing end product.

Our next guest is David Clough who is president of Waterford Homes. David has been in home building for his entire career, and was recently named the Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Georgia. He founded Waterford Homes with his business partner in 1991, and since that time they have built more than 2,500 homes in metro Atlanta.

Currently, Waterford Homes primarily builds homes for those in the move-up market, though they also have built starter homes and custom homes. One of their most popular communities is Crabapple Station in Milton, which features craftsman-style single family homes and townhomes. Buyers are attracted to this part of town due to its walkability and phenomenal school district. In Smyrna, they have single family homes at Stonecrest Manor and West Haven. Both communities offer estate sized homes in secluded locations that are still close to I-285, Vinings and downtown Atlanta.
