Soleil Laurel Canyon, an active adult community in Canton, is featured on today’s All About Real Estate edition of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Lifestyle Director Sue Dean and New Home Sales Consultant Mike Kinsey are on hand to discuss the lifestyle and homes available at this community, which is part of the 11,000-acre Laurel Canyon development.

Scheduled to have 900 homes upon completion, Soleil Laurel Canyon has one of the most extensive amenity packages in the northwest Georgia area. Just a small sampling of those amenities includes a 28,000-square-foot clubhouse, eight tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness center and an amphitheater.

The ranch-style homes available at Soleil Laurel Canyon are perfect for active adults looking for one-level living. Complete with an open floor plan that makes entertaining a breeze, these homes are void of any stairs and offer low-maintenance, lock-and-go lifestyles a reality. All lawn care is managed by the community association, and the homes are built with high-quality siding products that require minimal maintenance. In addition, the community has a 24-hour manned gate, and security alarms are standard in all homes.

Currently, there are 450 occupied homes at Soleil Laurel Canyon, with 100 in development and another 50 prospective home buyers on the waiting list for the community’s next phase, which is scheduled to open in March. Soleil Laurel Canyon offers eight unique home designs that offer a variety of square footage and options, as the development realizes that downsizing is a subjective term that determines what type of home you’re moving from. To meet the needs of every type of buyer, it offers homes in three different categories. Three home styles offer 1,400 to 2,000 square feet of living space with two bedrooms and a den. In addition, three homes offer 2,000 to 2,500 square feet of living space with three full bedrooms, larger entertaining spaces and a formal dining room. Finally, two homes offer more than 2,500 square feet of living space.

Sue is responsible for planning the community’s many activities and her background in both real estate and event planning make her the perfect person for this job. Many of the activities are held monthly, such as the Fourth Friday Social, which is an opportunity for neighbors to meet and mingle while providing an appetizer and beverage of their choice. Other frequent events include wine tastings and holiday celebrations, which often feature live entertainment and delicious food.

In addition to the community-wide events, the many social clubs and groups at Soleil are also responsible for planning events. With more than 55 clubs, there is something for everyone, from cooking and art clubs to card groups and a Veteran’s club.

While Soleil Laurel Canyon offers nearly everything residents could desire within its gates, the city of Canton is just a short distance away for a different dining experience or fun day of shopping. While the city is growing, it still has a small town feel with its Main Street and local theater. Soleil Laurel Canyon residents enjoy attending Canton’s First Friday celebration, as well as trying the many new restaurants that now call the city home.

Soleil Laurel Canyon offers a unique ambassadorship program for those residents who have lived in the community for a long period of time. Volunteers agree to meet with prospective home buyers to share their experiences about living in the community. Many recently retired active adults have the misconception that active adult communities are sedentary, but the opposite is true at Soleil.

For those prospective buyers that need to experience the community life for themselves, they can enjoy a true try it before you buy it immersive experience with a Discover Tour. Potential buyers can stay in a fully furnished model home for three days and two nights. While there, they can tour the eight furnished model homes, experience the lifestyle first hand and meet one-on-one with people already living in the community.

To learn more about the many activities and the large Laurel Canyon community. Prospective home buyers are invited to visit the onsite sales center, which is open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday. You can also learn more by calling 678-880-3071 or visiting www.SoleilLaurelCanyon.com.
