Adam Corder with LGI Homes is this week’s guest on the award-winning Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show. Adam shares LGI Homes’ plans for the Atlanta market, and his interview is followed by a round table discussion on how SAT scores and school districts impact the home buying decision.

Adam Corder is the Atlanta Division President for LGI Homes. Adam is an Atlanta native who has been in Atlanta real estate for more than 20 years, working in single family residential for 15 years.

LGI Homes is a Texas based builder that builds in four cities in Texas, Phoenix and Florida, and is ranked within the top 100 builders in the nation. Last year they had a strong 1,064 new home closings, and they hope to expand upon this number with their entry to the Atlanta market. LGI Homes has developed their business and sales model around the first-time buyer. They focus on convincing the apartment renter that is just as affordable and even better to buy a home. They do this, and do this successfully, by not only directly marketing to apartment complexes, but also by making sure their sales centers are heavily staffed and are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the year.

It should come as no surprise that there is a strong correlation between good schools, home prices and where people want to live. One indicator of how good is school is are its SAT scores. Nationally, the average SAT score is around a 1530. However, metro Atlanta has schools that rank well including Northview and Johns Creek High schools in Fulton County, Walton High school in Cobb County and Gwinnett School of Mathematic Science & Technology. Even if you don’t have kids, schools are still an important consideration because they affect property and resale values.

For more information on how metro area schools stack up, visit the Atlanta Journal Constitution‘s website.
