David Lelak with IHI Home Inspections is this week’s guest on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. David talks about the importance of a home inspection for both buyers and sellers. His interview is followed by our brand new segment featuring a round table discussion on hot home trends for 2013.
David Lelak is a certified home inspector with IHI Home Inspections. David has an extensive history in the construction industry with experience in a little bit of everything from roofing and framing to brick work and landscaping.
IHI Home Inspections was founded in late 2006, and despite the sluggish housing market, the company has managed to grow each year. David is the sole inspector for the company, and he recommends that it’s not just buyers who need a home inspection, but also sellers. It’s important for sellers to have an inspection before they put their home on the market in order to find out what items need attention, so that you can have them fixed on your own time frame. If you wait until a buyer requests a home inspection, often times you will have a shorter time frame to fix the home’s problems, which can also mean that it will cost you more money.
