This week on the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show, we are excited to have on Mike Wright, broker for the intown office of Atlanta-based Harry Norman, Realtors and Brian Hill with the Atlanta Dogwood Festival. It’s a great episode focused on intown living and lifestyle, and it’s a fabulous way to launch into spring!

Our first guest is Mike Wright, who is the intown office broker for Harry Norman, Realtors. Mike has been in the real estate business for about 15 years and is the leader of an office with over 75 real estate professionals. Harry Norman, Realtors has a fine tradition of real estate in the Atlanta area, as it was founded in 1930 and is Atlanta’s oldest and largest  residential real estate firm with 12 sales offices, various franchise and satellite offices and more than 1,000 real estate professionals. In addition, Harry Norman is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HomeServices of America, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate. This means Harry Norman is part of the second-largest full-service independent residential real estate brokerage firm in the U.S. with 30 locations, over 20,000 sales associates and more than 3,500 employees.

The intown office focuses on the center of Atlanta with historic neighborhoods like Ansley Park, Inman Park, and, as Mike says, almost anywhere that has a park in the name as well as Buckhead. These markets are hopping, and momentum from ending a great year of sales meant that things didn’t slow down much in winter, even for the powerful storms that blew through in January. Mike and his 75 agents are looking forward to a vibrant spring selling season.

Even in these historic neighborhoods, home buyers have a hunger for new construction. A number of builders are scooping up some of the older homes that they can and making room for the homes that buyers want now: traditional styles that play well with the neighborhood aesthetic that have modern conveniences. Mike also says that a big thing right now is not larger homes in the intown area, but homes with more features are driving buyer interest.
