This week’s guests on the award-winning Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show are Scott Eaves, director of sales and marketing with Epic Development, and Brian Harper, director of sales at TopGolf’s new Alpharetta location. Today’s episode is all about how new companies are making living smarter and more technologically involved, and both guests offer cool ideas on how technology can be seamlessly integrated into living to make everything easier.

Scott is a ten year veteran of the Atlanta real estate market, and he has been with Epic Development for about two years. Epic is a national award-winning homebuilding and remodeling company with a core focus on homes inside the perimeter, or just outside of Atlanta in the northern arc. Epic started working in the Atlanta area in 2008 with home renovations, and then shifted to high-end new construction in 2010. Epic’s focus is on design, and their architects and designers work to make the homes fit the clients’ needs, as well as the needs of the home site and the neighborhood. The same attention to detail is paid to construction management, cost control and continued service after the home is completed.

This attention to detail has earned Epic Development 13 OBIE awards and multiple national awards, and they are on the cutting edge of home design, which their recently completed Smart home project in Candler Park exemplifies. Scott tells us about home automation systems, which are becoming more popular in new homes and are another way that Epic’s designers can develop a home to be more personal for their clients’ tastes. For instance, this modern prairie-style home allows owners to remotely control lighting, sound, the security system and the HVAC climate control system and the entertainment system.

Scott tell us much more about what Epic Development has going on now and what new ways they are bringing top-tier design to new homes and remodeling. Listen to the full show above, or download it on iTunes to hear more about what Epic has under development in the Atlanta area – and your next home could be one of these amazing smart homes! After you listen, be sure to check out www.epicdevelopment.com to see their available homes.

Our second guest is Brian Harper, Director of Sales with TopGolf, which is opening a new facility in Alpharetta. As Brian puts it, he has the job of selling fun for a living with TopGolf and he has spent a lot of time in sports marketing and communication, with time put in with the Atlanta Braves and Kennesaw State University beforehand. TopGolf’s new facility is 65,000 square feet of golf tech and entertainment, with bars, restaurants, game stations, more than 200 HDTVs for watching your favorite events, a rooftop terrace for enjoying the Georgia weather, private rooms for events and more than 100 bays for golf play. It will be the largest sports entertainment complex in the city!

Where the magic comes in is that TopGolf isn’t just a driving range on top of the bars, entertainment and more – it uses a membership system to track all of your stats which conveniently populates to their app. The golfballs themselves have GPS microchips in them so that there isn’t any question about how far they went, which of their targets it landed in, or whether you are doing better or worse than previous trips – and it all feeds in to your profile to keep you on top of your game with measurable results. In addition, if you want to join in and be social, the TopGolf system has a number of ways to play and compete with others through all three floors of practice bays with eight games like horse, direct score comparison, scrambles and more.

Brian also talks about the economic impact of the new facility on the Alpharetta area, how TopGolf offers lessons and club rental, membership opportunities, and all about the upcoming events that are going on at the new facility. One of the most important tidbits Brian offers is about the opening dates – including the VIP event on May 19 and then the general opening on May 20. To learn more, listen to the full podcast above, then visit www.topgolf.com/alpharetta and head to the new facility at 10900 Westside Parkway in Alpharetta!
