Rob Martin with Ballantry Homes is this week’s guest on the award-winning Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show. Rob shares information on Ballantry Homes’ entry to not only the Atlanta real estate market, but also the U.S. market, and his interview is followed by a round table discussion with Orlando Lynch of Atlanta Peach Movers on why Atlanta is a top moving destination.
Rob Martin is the Vice President of the Atlanta division of Ballantry Homes. Rob has a background in corporate finance, which is a great asset to him as he helps lead Ballantry on their new venture.
Ballantry Homes, which was founded by Dave Hill in Toronto in 1989, is entering the U.S. real estate market via Atlanta. Historically, the company has built between 300 to 400 homes per year in everywhere from metro Toronto down to Niagara Falls. Dave originally looked at expanding to Atlanta in 2005 and 2006, but he thought property prices were too high, so he decided to pass. However, he never took his eye off of the Atlanta market, and the housing downturn presented him with the perfect opportunity to build his high quality homes here.

Our next guest is Orlando Lynch who is the President and CEO of Atlanta Peach Movers, a local and long distance moving company specializing in commercial and resident relocation that has been in business since 1987. In that time, the company has grown to include 40 trucks, 130 employees and two large warehouses.
Recently, the U.S. Census Bureau ranked Atlanta as a top moving destination for third year in a row. If you’re moving to Atlanta, Orlando has some great tips for setting up your move. First, you need to research potential companies by looking at their online reviews and asking friends and family who they trust. Once you’ve narrowed it down to a few reputable movers, make sure you get written down price estimates. Finally, when you’ve selected the right company for you, make sure they give you a copy of your rights and responsibilities.
