Jonathan Colon, event producer with Armus Media Group and Atlanta Bar Tours, is today’s Around Atlanta guest on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Known for coming up with unique ways to have fun in Atlanta, Atlanta Bar Tours hosts social events in some of the city’s best places to hang out. From pub crawls and festivals to tailgates and scavenger hunts, there are events that will appeal to everyone’s idea of fun!

Many of Atlanta Bar Tours’ events tie in with holidays and other special occasions. With Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day overlapping this year, the group is hosting just one mega pub crawl in the popular Virginia Highland community. Taking place Friday, Feb. 13 beginning at 7 p.m., the fifth annual Beads and Booze Crawl allows people to walk from seven popular bars, including Dark Horse, Diesel Filling Station, Hand in Hand, Neighbors Pub, Limerick Junction, 10 High and Sweet Auburn. Tickets start at $12.50 per person and include Mardi Gras-themed shots at each bar, as well as beads and food and drink specials.

The group will host three separate events for St. Patrick’s Day in three different areas of town. The festivities start on Friday, March 13 with the fifth annual Green Mile Midtown Pub Crawl. Tickets start at $12.50 and include admission, drinks and specials at each location in the Crescent Avenue neighborhood, such as Front Page News, Opera, Flip Flops and more.

The second St. Patrick’s Day event will be held in Buckhead on Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. Kegs and Eggs will include drinks at each location, as well as green breakfast items. Participating restaurants include Meehan’s, Elbow Room, Buckhead Tavern and Fado.

The St. Patrick’s Day festivities wrap up with the Lucky Leprechaun Pub Crawl in Virginia Highland on Tuesday, March 17 beginning at 3 p.m.

Other upcoming events include the Braves Opening Day Tailgate and at least two Cinco de Mayo parties. While the Cinco de Mayo parties are still in the planning stages, tickets are on sale now for the Braves Tailgate event. Held on Friday, April 10 beginning at 3 p.m., the tailgate takes place in a parking lot across the street from the stadium. Package tickets begin at $60 and are all-inclusive, meaning they include catered barbecue, drinks from the bartenders, a DJ, traditional tailgate games and a ticket to the Braves game in a reserved outfield section. Those with their own tickets to the game can purchase tailgate tickets for just $25.

In conjunction with Atlanta Bar Tours, Armus Media Group does many other events throughout the city as well. These include the Great City Race, which Jonathan describes as a localized version of the Amazing Race. This spring’s urban adventure scavenger race is being held in Decatur on Saturday, Feb. 28 and includes a very interactive set of clues that require participants to use their smartphone and wits to take photos, find things and complete both mental and physical tasks. In addition to this event being a great way to experience Decatur and have fun, it also benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program. The event begins at 10 a.m., and early bird tickets are on sale now for $40 each.

In addition to the social events around Atlanta, Armus Media Group organizes and produces many corporate and charity events. The group takes care of public relations, marketing and event production and management, as well as creating the concepts for many of the events.
