Today’s Around Atlanta guest on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio is Camille Kesler, president of the Atlanta Symphony Associates and chair of the 2015 Decorator’s Show House and Gardens. Taking place April 18 through May 10, this year’s show house marks the event’s 45th anniversary. As one of the largest events of its kind and the longest-running show house in the Southeast, the event serves as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s main fundraiser. It’s also a great opportunity for homeowners to get a wide variety of inspiration for their home from a multitude of sources.

Chateau Soleil, a beautiful French-inspired home designed by architect William T. Baker, is featured on this year’s tour. With a sunny, happy, completely yellow exterior, this home has 14,500 square feet of living space including six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, four half-baths and a 26-foot domed marble entrance. Other features found within the home include a Versailles-inspired grand living room, a formal dining room with 16-foot ceilings, three family rooms, a separate library and a study.

This year’s Decorator’s Show House and Gardens include 38 unique design spaces that have been expertly dressed by top interior designers. This year’s honorary chair, Vern Yip, designed two spaces inside the home, while fellow HGTV personality Chip Wade designed two of the outdoor living areas. In addition, this year’s show house features student space for the first time. One design space inside the home is being managed by 20 students from the Art Institute of Atlanta!

A multitude of events will take place during the show house, including the Opening Night Party with a Silent Auction, a Meet-and-Greet with Vern Yip, performances by the ASO, Yoga on the Lawn, book signings and much more. In addition, there is a fully-functioning café onsite and a Collectors Market. Finally, nearly everything within the home is for sale.  Tickets to this year’s Decorator’s Show House and Gardens are $30. Each dollar raised benefits the ASO, which recently won its 38th Grammy Award.

The Decorator’s Show House and Gardens is open from April 18 through May 10. The house is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.; Sunday from 1 until 4 p.m. and closed on Monday. Offsite parking is available at the Medici and Forum buildings located at The Piazza at Paces at 3290 Northside Parkway in Atlanta. Luxury shuttles will be on hand to take visitors to the show house.
