When Heather Townsend and Stephen Davis started looking for a home, a convenient location was high on their list of “musts.”

“We particularly wanted to live near MARTA because we travel a lot and it’s convenient to take the train to the airport,” Townsend said.

Lofts@5300, a loft condominium community located right across Peachtree Road from the Chamblee MARTA station, fit the bill perfectly.

“It’s easy to get to Buckhead, the Perimeter area and downtown and, as a bonus, we can walk to restaurants and shopping,” Townsend said.

Lofts@5300 is a mixed-use development with retail space on the ground floor and studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units starting at $108,900. Community amenities include a rooftop terrace with a tennis court and a garden with an arbor, a clubroom with a television, pool table and wet bar, a fitness center, a heated swimming pool, and three landscaped courtyards with water features.

Today’s homebuyers place a premium on their leisure time and don’t want to drive for miles and miles to shop for groceries or clothes, dine out, or go to the gym.

“People are tired of driving so much and they want to live in a convenient location. Their main reasons for buying here are the location and the look of the community, said Lori Clezie sales agent at Circle 75–The Towns of Crescent Park, a community of three-story townhomes located in the Smyrna/Vinings area.

In addition to being close to Cumberland Mall and the Cobb Galleria, residents Circle 75-The Towns of Crescent Park are within two miles of supermarkets, fitness facilities, a Costco, movie theaters and gourmet restaurants.

“We’re near the Vinings area which has shopping and great restaurants and we’re convenient to Buckhead and Midtown. The Cobb Energy Center is just a short distance away. Plus, we have an Atlanta address and Cobb County taxes. It’s the perfect location,” Clezie said.

Circle 75–The Towns of Crescent Park is a community of three-story brownstone-style townhomes priced from $279,900. The community has a swimming pool with a cabana and outdoor fireplace, walking trails, a gated dog park and brick sidewalks.

Location is the No. 1 reason people buy at Stonehaven Pointe and Stonehaven Terrace, Bowen Family Homes’ master-planned community in Forsyth County said David Kunis, sales agent.

“The convenient location is just off GA 400 and only three minutes from The Avenue Forsyth with shops, restaurants, movie theaters-everything anybody could want. In addition, it’s in Forsyth County with the lowest taxes in metro Atlanta,” Kunis said.

Homes at Stonehaven Pointe are single-family homes with three and four bedrooms and priced from the high $100,000s. Stonehaven Terrace features two-story fee-simple townhomes with prices starting at $149,000.
