Home to Coca-Cola, Home Depot and the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta is one amazing city. But you don’t need to tell us that right? After all, we live here. We know our city is great. Home to the 1996 Olympics, Georgia Tech University (ranked the eighth best engineering and information technology university in the world) and the largest aquarium in the world, the Georgia Aquarium.
Atlanta is great and we don’t need anyone else telling us, right?
Well, it doesn’t hurt to be recognized every now and again for our greatness I suppose.
So I am excited to share that Forbes ranked Atlanta as one of the best cities to buy a home. Atlanta snagged the 13th spot, right above Charlotte, North Carolina.
Other top cities include:
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Denver, Colorado
- Phoenix, Arizona
- Tampa, Florida
- Los Angles, California
- Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Columbus, Ohio
Forbes ranked 25 of the nations largest cities in the exclusive list. They considered three factors when making the list. First they looked at the number of zip codes with 25 percent of the area’s sales. Looking at this number allowed them to determine the areas that had spending activity that was evenly distributed. Then Forbes looked at the increase and decrease in price per square foot to find where market value is the highest. Finally, the looked at transaction rates in each city to find out where the housing markets are most active.
It is clear why Atlanta came in so high on the Forbes Best Cities To Buy A Home list when you consider all the great builders and neighborhoods in the city. From master planned communities right outside the city to live/work/play communities in the heart of Atlanta, there are many housing options for all buyers looking for a home.
