This month, professionals of all aspects of the home building industry will meet in Orlando for the 2018 International Builders’ Show (IBS). Hosted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), IBS brings thousands of exhibits showcasing the latest and greatest in home building tools and products, provides countless educational opportunities and offers networking occasions for all professionals connected to the industry.

Several of the educational opportunities come from Atlanta’s own home building professionals. Throughout the week of IBS, Atlanta’s industry experts will be sharing knowledge and essential lessons in funding, online sales, market research, marketing to consumers, smart homes, social media and more.

Robert Dozier 

Robert Dozier, with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, will be presenting during a session on “Partnerships with Federal Home Loan Banks: Funding for Home Builders, Developers, Home Buyers & Renters.” At FHLBank Atlanta, Dozier oversees the Bank’s Member Sales and Trading, Community Investment Services, Corporate Communications and Government and Industry Relations functions.

Along with Arthur Fleming of FHLB Atlanta, Dozier will advise builders and developers can be funded through FHLBanks in various areas, including acquisition, development, construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing. The presentation will also include information on FHLB partnerships and FHLB’s Affordable Housing Program.

Kelly Fink

Kelly Fink, the Vice President of Marketing, Merchandising and Online Sales for The Providence Group of Georgia, has over 20 years of experience in real estate and housing. Fink has been a presenter at IBS since 2009, has been named Marketing Director of the Year five times, is heavily involved with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and served on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council from 2008 to 2015, during some of the industry’s most challenging years.

Fink will be presenting during a session on “Advanced Strategies to Attract & Convert More Online Leads.” During the session, attendees will learn how to achieve leading conversion rates, best practices for design, mobile and more, capturing leads with proper calls to action and key performance indicators (KPI) and overall strategy.

Arthur Fleming

Joining Dozier is Arthur Fleming, who directs FHLB’s community investment, economic development and affordable housing products and services. Fleming has held various leadership roles in financial services, legal services, housing development and academic roles, including Chief Lending & Investment Officer of the Opportunity Finance Network, Senior Director for the Southeast Region and Director of Housing Finance for the Fannie Mae Foundation, attorney and senior associate for the FAU/FIU Join Center for Environmental and Urban Problems and many more.

His presentation with Dozier will cover FHLBank funding for builders and developers, FHLB partnerships and FHLB’s Affordable Housing Program.

John Hunt

As the principal of MarketNsight and the president of ViaSearch, both data firms, John Hunt analyzes the real estate market across the nation to offer real-time updates and information to builders, developers, Realtors and lenders so that they can make wise choices when entering into new projects. Hunt worked with the team that predicted the housing downturn in 2005 and provided the housing data that led Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson to extend the Home Buyer Tax Credit. In the past several years, he has successfully predicted Millennial Home Buying Trends, including the dramatic lost of First-Time Buyer in 2013 and the decrease of distressed lots nationwide. Hunt is frequently featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, WSB-TV, NPR’s “A Closer Look,” NAHB Now and Builder Online.

With Denim Marketing President and Founder Carol Morgan, Hunt will be presenting during a session on “Gauging the Generations: Millennials to Boomers” and providing home building industry professionals with important information on the housing economy, what influences the buying decisions of multiple demographics and reaching the buyers through social media.

Lesley McCarthy

Lesley McCarthy is the Regional Vice President for Builders Design and has been a leader in the home building markets of the Southeast for almost 20 years. McCarthy will be presenting on “How to Create a Smart Home That Buyers Will Want & Pay For,” which will teach attendees to identify current residential technology and smart home trends, analyze the value of smart home technology, know the different types of smart home technology and how each demographic responds to smart home technology.

Carol Morgan

Carol Morgan, founder and president of Denim Marketing, creates marketing strategies that fit clients’ needs with services including public relations, advertising, social media, content, reputation management, creative and more to increase leads and collect measurable results for home builders, banks, Realtors, developers, non-profit organizations and more. Morgan is the creator of the nationally ranked, award-winning www.AtlantaRealEstateForum.com, Atlanta’s most popular real estate blog, and has served as Chair of NAHB’s Professional Women in Building. She is currently NAHB’s Vice Chair of Membership and a member of the Associates Council.

Along with John Hunt of MarketNsight and ViaSearch, Morgan will present during “Gauging the Generations: Millennials to Boomers” on using social media tools to reach buyers of all demographics. She will also present and host office hours for one-on-one marketing questions with Paul Cardis of Avid Ratings during “Give Them Something to Talk About: Online Reputation Management.” Finally, attendees can hear Carol presenting on “Embrac[ing] Change: Passion, Leadership and Inspiration” as a past PWB Chair at the PWB Headquarters.

Diahann Young

Diehann Young directs Innovation and Digital Platforms at PulteGroup. Young has held various leadership positions, including Multicultrual Director at the Coca-Cola Company, brand management roles at Proctor and Gamble and more. Young will be presenting during “Social Media for Active Adults: Myths vs. Realities,” which will teach attendees about the questions each buyer group has, the importance of video, building a targeted audience through the use of social media ads and conversion through social media and your website.
