Make sure your dog is ready to put their best paw forward at the annual Atlanta Dog Jog benefitting the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association Foundation and Canine Assistants. This pet friendly dog jog will be held Saturday, May 12 at Piedmont Park beginning at 9 a.m.

The jog will consist of one and two mile run/walks that are open to dogs and owners of all athletic levels. If you’re pooch isn’t a fan of long walks in the park, feel free to bring a wagon. As an added bonus, Victoria Stilwell of Animal Planet’s It’s Me or the Dog will emcee the event.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Georgia Veterinary Medical Association Foundation and Canine Assistants. The Georgia Veterinary Medical Association Foundation supports benevolent activities in the areas of human-animal bond, animal health and welfare, public health, the preservation of wildlife, community service and veterinary student education. Canine Assistants is an Alpharetta based non-profit that breeds, raises and trains dogs for children and adults with seizure disorders and physical disabilities.

The advance cost per runner and dog duo is $25. Each additional dog participant is $15 and registration can be completed online.
