Atlanta Big Business on the Rise

Home to over 242 distinct neighborhoods with unique economic offerings, Atlanta is quickly becoming one of the largest employment hubs in the Southeast. The vastly growing metro area is a common relocation spot for big business, offering impressive employment and expansion opportunities to the local population.

Atlanta’s repertoire of private colleges and universities delivers over 132,000 accreditations and degrees to students each year, creating a highly skilled and saturated workforce ripe for picking. Schools such as the University of Georgia, the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), Georgia State University, Morehouse College, Spellman College and Kennesaw State University, present a wide variety of talent for big-name companies searching to fill positions with diverse talent.

According to JLL, the Atlanta economy is paving the way for incredible economic growth. The economy continues to create so many net new jobs and provides hundreds of thousands of consumers with greater means to spend money.

The May 2022 survey from JLL also reported that full-time in-office or hybrid working models led to increased portfolio diversification for several large companies across the country, enabling them to choose Atlanta as their new home base. This shift creates an opportunistic job market and increases economic prosperity for the city.

As Atlanta continues to recover from pandemic effects, as well as rising inflation rates, residents have a few silver linings on the horizon. Referred to as the “Silicon Valley of the South,” Atlanta will soon be home to a multiple-location Google hub and the second-largest Microsoft campus in the world.

These expansions will benefit a large percentage of graduates from Georgia’s 85 accredited public and private higher educational institutions, as well as the growing roster of 18 Fortune 500 companies and 33 Fortune 1000 companies present in the metro area including:

  • AT&T Foundry
