Following her Associate of the Year Award win at the 2015 OBIE Awards, Lori Roussau, assistant vice president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lending, tells Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio how thankful she is to have won such a prestigious award.

The Associate of the Year award is presented annually to a member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association in recognition of their accomplishments in the areas of service to the industry and association, professional excellence and community involvement, furthering the mission and goals of the association.

Lori Rousseau has been a leader in the new home lending industry in Atlanta for many years. With more than 20 years of mortgage lending experience, she has most recently held management positions at Wells Fargo and MetLife. Today, she manages a network of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lending offices, housed inside 19 Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties offices.

For many years, Lori has led a quarterly “Home Buyer’s Academy” sponsored by the Housing Institute and the HBA. This two-hour class for potential home buyers walks them through the process of buying, building and financing a new home. Through this class, she has helped hundreds of potential home buyers feel more comfortable with the purchasing process.

Winning this award means a great deal to Lori and to HomeServices Lending. “It helps to raise our profile in the area and brings some positive attention to the lending environment… [This award] shows we aren’t just a good mortgage company, but we give back to the community,” says Lori.

Lori believes that in the coming year, home buyers will continue to see Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lending’s name grow not only throughout Atlanta, but also across the country.
