The Associate of the Year award is presented annually to a member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) in recognition of their accomplishments in the areas of service to the industry and association, professional excellence and community involvement, furthering the mission and goals of the association. The 2014 Associate of the Year is Ro Preisinger of Berkshire Hathaway New Home Services Sales and Marketing.

After graduating from Ridgeview High School in Orange Park, Florida, Ro Preisinger made the move to Athens to attend the University of Georgia. Armed with a degree from the Terry School of Business, a Broker’s License, enormous energy and abundant enthusiasm, Ro landed her first job in the real estate industry in the late 1980s.

From November 1990 to November 1995, Ro served as the Broker and Marketing Director for Saye Construction Company in Athens. After five years with Saye Construction, Ro was eager to put her experience to work in Atlanta’s real estate market. Ro moved to Atlanta in 1996, joined the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and in 1999, she was named Associate Broker at Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation. Currently, Ro is Associate Broker/Realtor at Berkshire Hathaway New Home Services Sales and Marketing. With a reputation as one of Atlanta’s premier real estate agents, Ro puts her extensive experience to work for both buyers and sellers in Atlanta, Marietta, Roswell, Decatur, Alpharetta and the surrounding areas.

Since joining the Greater Atlanta HBA and throughout her entire career, Ro has been a dedicated association volunteer and leader. She has served on a variety of HBA councils and committees and is best known for her leadership roles in the HBA’s Sales and Marketing Council (SMC). Ro was elected to the Sales and Marketing Council’s Board of Directors in 2000. During this time, she has made significant contributions in all aspects of the SMC, and as Co-Chairman of the Awards Committee, Ro has been instrumental in the success and growth of the OBIE Awards program.

In 2005, Ro was elected to the Executive Committee of the Sales and Marketing Council, where she worked her way up the SMC’s leadership ladder and served as President in 2008. During Ro’s term as SMC President, she initiated several unique programs, including creative opportunities for members to make charitable donations at monthly council meetings, and she launched the first annual Ten Pins for Charity Bowl-a-Thon. And under Ro’s leadership, the 2008 OBIE Awards Dinner was a sold-out-success! She was also a key player in the development of the Atlanta Home Facts newsletter and website, which was established as a resource to educate sales professionals as well as the general public.

Ro first joined the HBA’s Board of Directors in 2005 and has served several terms on the Board. Ro has also held the position of Associate Member at Large on the HBA’s Executive Committee and is the 2014 Associate Vice President.

Among her many accomplishments, Ro is an active life member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors Million Dollar Circle and has been a member of Coldwell Banker’s Presidents Club, which represents the top 5 percent of all Coldwell Banker agents in the United States. Ro was honored by the HBA in 2008 as the association’s Council Chairperson of the Year.

An avid Georgia Bulldog fan, loving mother and wife with a successful career spanning two decades, Ro has made many lasting contributions to Atlanta’s home building and real estate industries. The HBA is proud to recognize Ro Preisinger as the 2014 Associate of the Year.
